Dr. Karen Snowden, PT, DPT, WCS Awarded the 2024 Elizabeth Noble Award

Speaking the Truth About Menopause

This blog is personal for me and comes from the heart. I want to tell you about my good friend, colleague, and fierce advocate for menopause healthcare, Dr. Karen Snowden. Karen won an award recently, the Elizabeth Noble Award, named after the founder of the APTA Academy of Pelvic Health. It is the Academy’s highest honor, awarded to one member each year recognized for that person’s extraordinary and exemplary service to the field of physical therapy for women. Karen has devoted her career and life to providing and promoting healthcare in pelvic health and women’s health through clinical practice, volunteerism, mentorship, and education.

While I am always amazed at my friend’s accomplishments, what I love most about Karen is she speaks the truth. We developed Pre-Menopause Matters based on speaking the truth. It was the first course of its kind in the U.S. to provide evidence-based comprehensive continuing education for PTs and other healthcare providers. There are no product endorsements lining our pockets. We simply tell you what the evidence is for various treatments of menopause symptoms, update that information when new research arises, and let you make your own conclusions based on the facts.

Congratulations, Karen Snowden! I am proud to know you as my longtime friend and colleague, and someone I can always count on to tell it like it is. Truth!
